Synthesis and Application of Hydrophobic Cobalt (II) Catalysts for Use in Catalytic Chain Transfer Polymerisation (CCTP)

Abstract

The development of a new synthetic route to hydrophobic cobaloximes was attempted. The solubility of the catalysts was tested utilising UV-vis spectroscopy and their effectiveness as chain transfer agents, in catalytic chain transfer polymerisation (CCTP), was examined. Two catalysts were successfully synthesised and characterised with 1H NMR, 13C NMR, Infrared Spectroscopy (IR) and High-Resolution Mass Spectrometry (HRMS).
