Abstract
The linearity of an uncooled distributed feedback (DFB) lasers at package temperatures of 25°C and 85°C, and at frequencies up to 20 GHz was investigated. The linearity was assessed to find the suitability of the device for analog transmission of microwave signals. It was observed that the laser offered a high level of linearity at the above temperature and the linearity was maintained over high frequency range. Results show that the device is appropriate for low-cost transmission of microwave signal in the frequency bands .
