Wavelength-independent high-extinction fibre mode convertor

Abstract

We have used photonic crystal fibre techniques to construct a mode converter. It couples light from LP/sub 01/ to LP/sub 11/ modes with extinction ratio >30 dB at all wavelengths from 650-1750 nm.
