Abstract

A finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) analysis of long inset dielectric guide (IDG) antennas is presented. Radiation patterns, input response and antenna directivity are calculated and compared with results obtained by the application of the H-guide model. A test antenna has been manufactured and its electrical characteristics have been measured. Comparisons between theoretical and experimental data show superior accuracy of FDTD model.
