Abstract

Intelligent Computer Assisted Language Learning (ICALL) and Intelligent Computer Assisted Language Instruction (ICALI) integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) to enhance educational methodologies. The research and development of ICALL and ICALI hold significant potential across applied linguistics, computational linguistics, AI, and educational technology. This Special Issue explores the transformative impact of AI on language assessment through Intelligent Computer-Assisted Language Assessment (ICALA), considering its cognitive and emotional effects on students and educators. It aims to fill gaps in current research by presenting original studies, reviews, and analyses on topics such as educational advancements with ICALA, the role of positive psychology, practical techniques for ICALA development, and its influence on teaching strategies, motivation, identity, and emotional regulation. Submissions are encouraged from diverse disciplines, and all manuscripts will undergo rigorous peer review to ensure quality and relevance. This Special Issue aims to provide a comprehensive resource for scholars and practitioners seeking to integrate AI and robotics into language education for sustainable development.
