Abstract

The paper investigates the impact of thermal behaviour on the electric car motor's shape optimization for a realistic driving cycle. The motor model is created by integrating electromagnetic-thermal modelling on Ansys electromagnetic and Motor-CAD, which is then linked to Matlab's genetic optimization algorithm evaluating the motor's price and performance.
