Abstract

This chapter provides a brief summary of the purpose and practical use of the Standards for Quality Improvement Reporting Excellence (SQUIRE) guidelines. These guidelines highlight the need for structure in quality improvement reporting, the need for a defined theory of change, the importance of defining context, and the description on the intervention. The chapter illustrates perioperative quality improvement examples.
