Abstract

The concept of social class has not featured as prominently in psychology as it has in the broader social sciences. This editorial provides an overview of the concept of social class and its relevance to contemporary psychology. Although far from exhaustive, the editorial considers key developments in class theory and research, paying particular attention to scholarly advances within psychology. An introduction to the five articles contained within this collection is also provided.
