Abstract
This chapter seeks to map the emerging literature on the different types of roles involved in the graft and craft of open innovation, and presents a description of these roles, including the work practices, knowledge, and networks required. It suggests future extensions to our understanding of the micro-foundations of open innovation and outlines a set of future research questions and managerial challenges.
