Abstract

The title compound, Pb[N=Bu^tPh]₃Li·thf, has been synthesised by nucleophilic substitution of (C₅H ₅)₂ Pb (1 equiv.) with LiN=C(Bu^t)(Ph)(2equiv.) and shown by X-ray crystallography to have a distorted trigonal bipyramidal PbN₃Li core structure in which the phenyl groups of the imino ligands face towards, and encircle, the Pb.
