Abstract
This article assesses that the development of nuclear weapons by North Korea can no longer be reversed, and taht the next step would be to prevent North Korean development of nuclear warfighting capability. If this fails or if the West fails to try to negotiate this insisting on reversing the nuclear weapons capability, then there is a risk of US extended nuclear deterrence failing in the Korean Peninsula.
