Abstract

Described in this report is the synthesis and optical spectroscopic characterization of two new dipyrrolylquinoxaline analogues. These new systems consist of novel hemipyrazinophyrazines that are functionalized on their respective peripheries with four pyrrole rings. The electronic features of these compounds are typical of those expected for hemiporphyrazines, although slight bathochromic shifts are observed for the absorption bands in the violet-blue region of the electromagnetic spectrum.
