Abstract
Reactions of the activated clusters [Os3(CO)12-n(NCMe)n] (n = 1 or 2) with AsHMe2 give the AsMe2-bridged triosmium clusters [Os3(μ-H)(CO)10(μ-AsMe2)] (3) and [Os3(μ-H)2(CO)8(μ-AsMe2)2] (6), 3 being formed via the novel intermediate [Os3H(CO)11(μ-AsMe2)] (2) by cleavage and subsequent formation of an OsOs bond; the X-ray crystal structures of 2 and 6 confirm the presence of μ-AsMe2 groups.
