Abstract

The reaction of [HOs3(CO)11]-11 with [Os3(CO)10(MeCN)2] in acetone gives the green-blue anion [HOs3(CO)10·O2C·Os6(CO)20]- (1) amongst several other products; this anion has been structurally characterised by a single crystal X-ray study of its Bu4P+ salt.
