Abstract
The structures of the metallo-xanthate anions [Zn(S2COR)(3)](-) (R = Et (1), Pr-i (2)), [Sn(S2COR)(3)](-) (R = Et (3), Pr-i (4)), and [Bi(S2COPri)(4)](-) (5) have been determined as their (Me4N](+) salts. The two zinc species differ in having either all SS bonded ligands (1) or both SS and S,O-ligation (2). The tin compounds are either monomeric (4) or weakly associated into dinners (3), while 5 adopts a monomeric dodecahedral structure. (C) 2009 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
