Abstract

The heteronuclear clusters [M₃(CO)₁₁Hg]₃ (M = Ru, Os) have been prepared by the reaction of [M₃H(CO) ₁₁]^- with Hg¹ and Hg¹¹ salts; [Os₃(CO)₁₁Hg]₃ has been characterised by an X-ray analysis and shown to contain a raft-like Os₉Hg₃ metal framework.
