Abstract

The reaction of [HOs3(CO)11]- with AuClPR3 (R Et, Ph) yields the complex HOs3Au(CO)10(PR3), and the PPh3 derivative has been characterised by an X-ray analysis; the structure is compared with that of Os3Au(CO)10(PPh3)-(SCN) and is shown to contain a formally unsaturated OsOs bond.
