Abstract

Reaction of 1,1,1-tris(isocyanomethyl)ethane (trisNC) (3) with [Os₃(CO)₁₀(NCMe)₂] gives the tripod-capped cluster [Os₃(CO)₉(trisNC)] (4), which has been fully characterised by spectroscopic and X-ray crystallographic techniques.
