Abstract

The anion [Os₉H(CO)₂₄]^-, 2 has been isolated in moderate yield by the vacuum pyrolysis of [Os₃(CO) ₁₀(NCMe)₂], and has been shown by a single crystal X-ray structure analysis to contain the previously unobserved tricapped octahedral Os₉ metal core.
