Abstract

The compound [Os₇(μ-H)₂C(CO)₁₉] (1) was isolated in good yield by vacuum pyrolysis of [Os₃(μ-H) ₃(CO)₉(μ₃-COMe)], deprotonation of (1) gives [Os₇(μ-H)C(CO)₁₉]^- (2); the structures of (1) and (2) have been established by X-ray crystallography.
