Abstract

The paper outlines the known and possible effects on English architectural education of some of the recent changes in the funding of Higher Education. The paper examines the previous certainties contained within
the framework of architectural education and how these might evolve to suit the new realities facing students and Higher Education Institutions.
The paper was written in the summer of 2011 and in some instances the policy framework to which it refers may been revised in the period since.
