Abstract

The structure of a new sesquiterpene isolated from Pogostemon plectranthoides (Desf) has been assigned from its spectral properties and confirmed by X-ray crystallographic evidence. The compound has been identified as 5α-hydroxy-10β-selina-1,4(15),7-trien-6-one (1).
