Abstract
This entry addresses the spatialization of class structure as manifested through the patterning of higher education destinations at global, national and regional scales. Higher education is an illuminating lens through which to see social class in-formation across spatial scales, and to observe the way class structures are produced and reproduced over time. We can see this in terms of two key dimensions that relate to key academic debates: (1) the spatialized class structure that universities embody, and (2) the global political economy within which the geography of university choices is enacted. This entry explores these two dimensions through the academic literature, drawing on the international and national scales of analyses to bring together some key over-arching parallels on the geographies of power as manifested by and through higher education.
