Silica hollow core fibers for Mid-IR wavelengths

Research output: Chapter or section in a book/report/conference proceedingChapter in a published conference proceeding

Abstract

Silica-based fibers can be used at infra-red wavelengths to beyond 4μm by using hollow-core designs, giving attenuation up to 10,000x less than the material absorption. We describe the current performance limits in this spectral range.
