Abstract

The present invention provides a sensor for locating within a urinary drainage bag, the sensor comprising an agent held by a p H-sensitive release material; wherein the agent is a diagnostic marker and wherein the p H-sensitive release material is configured to release the agent when the p H-sensitive release material is exposed a p H above 7, together with a urinary drainage bag comprising the same. Methods for preventing catheter blockage using the sensor and methods for manufacturing the sensor are also provided.
