Abstract

In recent years there have been considerable advances in the transmission of RF signals over optical fibre links. However as wireless services themselves have advanced there is now a greater need for systems which can select and route RF signals over optical fibre networks. This paper will report some recent advances in the routing of RF services over optical amplifier based switches, indicating the potential scale of networks that can be envisaged in the future.
