Abstract

Title full: Reactions of [Os3H2(CO)10] and [Os3H(CO)11]-with [N3SiMe3] and the formation of [Os3H(CO)10(μ-NHPh)] using [Os3(CO)11(NCMe)]; x-ray crystal structures of [Os3(μ-H)(CO)10(η-N3H 2)] and [Os3(μ-H)(CO)10(μ-NHSiMe3)]. Reaction of the cluster [Os3H2(CO)10] with (N3SiMe3) yields the triazenido species [Os3(μ-H)(CO)10(η-N3H2 )] (I) which, upon reflux, loses N2 to give [Os3(μ-H)(CO)10(μ-NH2)] (II); the capped species [Os3](μ-H)2(CO)93-NP h)] may be obtained by reaction of [Os3(CO)11(NCMe)] with NH2Ph and subsequent pyrolysis of the high yield product [Os3(μ-H)(CO)10(μ-NHPh)]; with [Os3H(CO)11]- trimethylsilylazide yields [Os3(μ-H)(CO)10(μ-NHSiMe3)] (III); the structures of I and III have been confirmed by single-crystal X-ray analyses.
