Abstract
The anion [(μ-H)Os3(CO)11]- reacts with dioxygen in solution to give a yellow species which further reacts with Os6(CO)18 to yield [(μ-H)Os3(CO)10.(/gm2-O2C).Os6(CO)17]-. The structure of the oxygen intermediate is proposed, and a mechanism of the reaction suggested.
