Abstract

The T-shaped Pt(II) complex [PtMe((Pr3P)-Pr-i)(2)][1-H-closo-CB11Me11], which is stabilised by an agostic interaction, undergoes acid-catalysed intramolecular C-H activation in the presence of THF to afford cyclometallated [Pt(THF)((Pr3P)-Pr-i)((Pr2PCHMeCH2)-Pr-i)][1-H-closo-CB11Me11].
