Abstract

A polygeneration system is economic when one or two main biofuels and commodity chemicals are produced, alongside a number of high‐value, low‐volume chemicals. The economic and environmental sustainability can be enhanced by polygeneration of added value chemicals (for which small volume is required) and materials through process integration opportunities. Reuse and recycle of CO2 rich as well as lean streams (post‐combustion and pre‐combustion, respectively) can generate syngas, hydrogen, formic
