Abstract
[Pt(Me2bipy)Cl2] (Me2bipy = 4,4′-dimethyl-2,2′-bipyridine) and HC≡CC6H4-4-R react in the presence of diisopropylamine and CuI as catalyst to give the platinum bis-acetylides [Pt(Me2bipy)(C≡CC6H4-4-R)2] R = H, Me, NO2. Initial spectroscopic, electrochemical and reactivity studies are presented.
