Plasmonic aerogel doped with gold nanoparticles

Abstract

We have developed a new technique to incorporate gold nanoparticles into silica aerogel without aggregation. Such a doped "plasmonic" aerogel can be used for nonlinear optical experiments and plasmonic sensing.
