Abstract

Photorhabdus luminescens mcf toxin genes first isolated from bacteria and encoding proteins comprising an apoptosis-promoting "death domain" and a membrane translocation domain. The toxin genes and proteins may be used as medicaments, cosmetic agents and insecticides, and in screening methods to isolate other potential toxins.
