Photonic crystal fibers: Putting new life into an old hat

Research output: Chapter or section in a book/report/conference proceedingChapter in a published conference proceeding

Abstract

The development of artificially microstructured materials known as photonic crystals has resulted in new thinking in fiber optics. Photonic crystal fibers use the unusual properties of the new materials to deliver previously unattainable optical performance.
