Abstract
We have measured the phonon-drag thermopower of a periodically modulated
two-dimensional electron gas, and report antisymmetrical commensurability oscillations
developing with increasing electron density. The ballistic nature of electron transport is
found to amplify the effects of transverse temperature gradients induced by anisotropy in the
electron-phonon interaction.
