Abstract

This chapter explores the co-design and development of spaces in care homes for an intergenerational encounter. Community engagement, and specifically opportunities for intergenerational encounters, are increasingly recognised by the care sector and social care commissioners as vital in tackling issues of social isolation in our older populations living in care. However, often it is the most cognitively able older people who are invited to participate in these activities.
