Abstract
Social, cultural, and economic capitals are significant assets for key figures in the sports sector, such as athletes and coaches, providing opportunities for development, success, and recognition. This lesson explores the definitions and benefits of these capitals and discusses how they can contribute to the success of these protagonists, with illustrative examples. It also analyses some limitations of current public sports policies aimed at athletes and coaches, and recommends changes to support their development and success. These recommendations are intended to directly benefit sports'main protagonists, while also foreseeing positive externalities for the wider sports sector and society as a whole.
