Abstract

Increasingly, universities and research institutions are having to support researchers in managing their data. Because they have an appropriate skill set, librarians are taking on much of the responsibility for providing this support. But data management brings with it fresh challenges, so data librarians need to extend traditional skills in various ways and acquire some new ones. Fortunately, guidance and training in these skills is being developed for both practising and student librarians.
