Novel 4x4 port integrated SOA switch and wavelength converter

Abstract

A 4x4 integrated SOA switch performs routeing and wavelength-conversion without additional active components. 0.6dB penalty is achieved for 5Gb/s wavelength-conversion, with 7Gb/s error-free operation in this un-optimised device.
