Negative penalty 10 Gb/s all optical wavelength conversion in an integrated amplifier/DFB laser

Abstract

Low input power 10 Gb/s wavelength conversion is demonstrated for the first time in an in-line integrated amplifier/DFB laser with negative conversion penalty. Subsequent penalty free transmission over 380 km of NZ-DSF is achieved.
