Abstract

Effective moisture management during construction is essential to achieve a successful, long-lived and sustainable outcome for timber structures. Several incidences of serious damage, originating in construction-stage moisture ingress or entrapment, have been documented. There are many aspects to consider and key decisions to be made throughout the design, planning and execution stages. Each of the key areas is identified and explored with best practice and guidance presented.
