Abstract

In order to study the applications of ESS in power systems, this paper proposes a standard procedure to develop a full mathematical dynamic model of power systems installed with ESS, which include SMES, AC, BESS and FESS. Results of computer simulation are presented to demonstrate the effect of ESS on power system dynamics. Investigation of power system stability as affected by the installation of ESS is presented in the paper.
