Abstract

The bulky chelating dianion Me2Si(NDipp-)2 was used to synthesize [{Me2Si(NDipp)2}-ZrCl2(THF)2] (Dipp=2,6-diisopropylphenyl). The nitrogen atoms of the chelating diamide and the cis oxygen atoms of the THF ligands defined a plane around Zr. The reactions were conducted under an atmosphere of dry argon and manipulated either on a double-manifold vacuum line or in a dinitrogen-filled drybox.
