Abstract
This book is a handbook of management practices and leadership competencies required to win in the 4th Industrial Revolution. It is illustrated throughout with examples and anecdotes from corporations today, as the 4IR is already here. Most of the examples are from major global corporations, often firms with significant heritage that have nonetheless responded to the
challenges of managing in this accelerating and increasingly technology enabled environment. These examples thereby are relevant both for long established entities as well those founded much more recently. The intent is that the reader will continually ask themselves the question, ‘How can this be applied in my company?’
This is a handbook for how to manage in the new environment. It is not a discussion of the different types of technology, nor of the benefits of embracing such technologies nor indeed of how to adopt them. Management and Leadership in the 4th Industrial Revolution is a guidebook for winning in 4IR, but I also hope it is entertaining.
