Abstract

Magnetic and transport measurements are reported on U2Pt2 single crystals that crystallize in the tetragonal Zr3Al2-type structure. Magnetization shows enhanced Pauli paramagnetism, reaching a broad maximum at 10 K along c that indicates a spin fluctuation behaviour, as it is also suggested by the magnetoresistance results. Thermopower shows a minimum over 25 K that is related to the Kondo temperature.
