Abstract

The group 11 metal imino complexes [{Cu[μ-N=C(But)Ph]} 4]·thf 2 (thf = tetrahydrofuran) and [{Cu[μ-N=C(Bu t)Ph]}4(PPh3)2]·6thf 3 have been prepared by the unusual ligand-transfer reactions of the tris(imino)stannate complex Sn[μ-N=C(But)Ph]3Li· thf with CuCl; both complexes have been shown by crystallography to contain planar Cu4 cores.
