Abstract
The nasal route may be an alternative for the administration of drugs which present certain problems or risks when administered by other routes. It is currently acquiring great importance, specially in the case of peptide drugs, as they undergo degradation when taken orally. This article aims to make a review of the most significant aspects of nasal anatomy, active ingredients and promoters used by this route, as well as the pharmaceutical forms that may be applied.
