Acknowledgements
For the preparation of the conference, I benefited greatly from the collaboration with the additional members of the steering committee: the HERCulES members Helena Buescu (University of Lisbon, Portugal), Lars Engwall (Uppsala University, Sweden), Milena Zic Fuchs (University of Zagreb, Croatia) and Marijkvan der Wende (University of Utrecht, the Netherlands). For the practical arrangements before and during the conference, I want to convey my sincere thanks to Maria Helgöstam at the Wenner-Gren Foundations for the excellent collaboration.
