Abstract
This short chapter, by the editor, builds on preceding contributions to this volume by experienced researchers and educators who have focused on a range of different aspects and issues of relevance to those with interests in the field of international education. Taking as its starting point the very different global context we currently inhabit than would have been familiar half a century ago, the chapter highlights a number of challenges faced by the world today and raises the question of how those with interests in international education, as educators and researchers, will respond to these challenges as the world moves forward into an uncertain future.
