Mahito Atobe is a professor at Yokohama National University. He was born in Yamanashi, Japan. He received his PhD degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1998. He has held positions at Tokyo Institute of Technology (1996-2011) and Yokohama National University (2011-current). He has been awarded the Young Researcher Award of The Electrochemical Society of Japan (2003), the Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology: The Prize for Young Scientists (2009), and other awards. His research is focused on materials electrochemistry and innovative methods in electrosynthesis and electroanalysis.
